Zombies and kittens! Total meme brain melt! Does it get any better?

Can there possibly be anything new to say about zombies? And yet they keep coming back. Literally. If you look at the Jungian idea of the collective unconscious and what art tells us, why are we so obsessed with the apocalyptic lately? Do wee see or fear a massive social change? Is it analogous to all the 1950’s monster movies that were an upwelling of fear about the atomic age, Cold War and changes in our social paradigms? Screenwriters what do you think the world is coming to and how would you find a fresh take on this? Better still can you find a fresh take and stick in a zombie or two?
