Writer of Screen

The Dreaded Bio

Germaine de Pibrac James is an experienced screenwriter with before/behind the camera production work that makes her flexible and easy to work with and able to adapt to different budget and talent needs. She is currently working on her fifth writing assignment as well as writing the screenwriting blog Writer of Screen, nominated for Best Creative Blog by Total Film Magazine.

She has studied screenwriting, storytelling and filmmaking at places such as University of Moscow, University of Dallas, California State, and is currently refining her skills as an Intelligence Analyst with a Master’s Degree in Intelligence, Counterintelligence and Game Theory. She has lived and worked around the globe and in many unique cultures and hot zones of conflict from Argentina, Venezuela/Columbia, Ireland and Northern Ireland, Russia to Italy, UK, France, Spain, Greece, Rural Texas, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Illinois and Los Angeles.

Germaine brings her rich and unique Romani culture as well as her insight and special skills as an intelligence analyst to every project, infusing them with both the much desired diversity and a unique, high concept vision.

She has directed web content for the Campaign for a U.S. Department of Peace Los Angeles, music videos for indie bands such as Transit, Tame…Tame and Quiet and Runon Fragment, as well as producing Peace Tour 2007 and the Tour documentary for the band China Room and DOPeace Los Angeles. She also hosts the Independent Filmmakers Resource blog cited by Tom Cruise as an excellent resource for indie filmmakers.

She has been both a judge and reader for film festivals and screenwriting contests. She has also been a reader for production companies and agents/managers. She also does coverage for private clients when she has time available.

She is a hostage for three cats, an advocate for others enjoying life with Asperger’s/Autism Spectrum, believes in two children and has Zombies (or the other way around), talks to the poltergeists in her house, really wants a funeral in Klingon after she read about it from Ken Levine, is coming to terms with being chased on sight by geese and raccoons and believes the whole eccentric writer thing is exaggerated and a bit stale really.

“I have enjoyed working with Germaine over the last three years. As a writer, she delivers engaging concepts, unique characters, and a well written script. As a producer, she takes care of business with grace and precision. I’ve also found her counsel on New Media to be insightful and valuable. You’re in good hands with Germaine.”
